This album is in many ways an exploration of sound design, specifically via semi-modular analog synthesizers. It marks a complete departure from DAWs and VSTs in favor of hardware synths and sequencers. Over the course of working on it, I found myself acquiring more and more gear and progressively becoming more interested in experimental sound design techniques.

With some exceptions, I wanted to primarily focus on writing electronic ambient music that while musically interesting could also function as a soundtrack. I also found myself becoming more drawn to harmonically complex writing, and started to break in places from my more typically melodic and contrapuntal style. This was a lot of fun, and I've definitely learned a lot from working on it.
